In the Shamba

Abdi’s Father has a very big Shamba. He grows cabbages, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes. Kola’s family does not buy vegetables from the market. They eat their own vegetables and sell some in the market.
Kola’s family wants to grow many different crops. He has a lot of work to do. Last Saturday he said to Kola and his mother, ‘it is going to rain soon. We must keep working today until we finish.’
So Kola’s family started working very early. They dug and planted from morning to midday.
After lunch they started working again. They kept working in the Shamba till evening. They were very tired. But they were happy too. They were happy they finished the work before the rain started.
